Auction Estates is pleased to confirm the results of its latest Live National Auction held on 18th June 2026 at Nottingham Racecourse achieving a strong overall success rate of 80%, where 53 lots were offered for sale and £4.5 million worth of property sold under the hammer and prior to auction.
The warm weather on the day may have contributed to strong levels of remote participation, with a significant number of proxy, online and telephone bidders active throughout the auction. Smaller parcels of land in particular attracted widespread remote interest, resulting in highly competitive bidding across multiple lots.
Acting on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council, one of the standout results of the day was the sale of the Former Bourne Library, South Street, Bourne, which attracted strong in-room competition before ultimately selling for £90,000, above its guide price of £75,000+. Offered with clear potential for alternative uses (STP), the property attracted significant interest, and we will be interested to see how the purchaser looks to bring this prominent building forward.
Strong bidding was also seen for 6–8 Commercial Road, Bulwell, a freehold three-storey mixed-use investment comprising retail accommodation and a self-contained two-bedroom flat. The property sold for £196,000, reflecting continued demand for well-located income-producing assets with future asset management potential.
Further highlighting strong demand for well-located investment opportunities, the Car Park at Spring Road, Bulwell, Nottingham, achieved an impressive result, selling for £305,000 against a guide price of £150,000+. The freehold site, providing approximately 60 car parking spaces on a 0.41-acre corner plot in Bulwell town centre, attracted strong interest from a range of bidders.
Showcasing the diversity of stock offered, Holly Hock, a stunning rural residence in Cawthorne, sold successfully prior to auction, demonstrating continued appetite for well-presented residential assets in desirable locations.
The catalogue also featured a number of small parcels of land, with clients continuing to recognise the auction platform as a straightforward and efficient route to dispose of surplus or underutilised assets. These lots once again generated strong competitive bidding, particularly where local knowledge and adjacent ownership interests came into play.
Further highlighting this, Land off Farm Close, Solihull, West Midlands, guided at £5,000+, achieved £15,500, more than triple its guide price, following competitive bidding from interested parties including neighbouring buyers.
Overall, the results continue a strong year for Auction Estates, with a healthy mix of local authorities, private individuals, and corporate clients contributing to another successful sale. The auction once again demonstrated consistent demand across residential, investment, and land opportunities, with strong premiums achieved where competitive interest was highest.
