    Offering a diverse range of residential housing, commercial property and development land, there was plenty of choice for investors with properties based across the East Midlands and as far away as Blackpool, Torquay and Southend-on-Sea.

    Nottingham Pub Up For Sale - and could be turned into flats

    A historic pub in St Ann's that was the subject of a failed "asset of community value" application attempt is up for sale – and could be turned into flats.

    The Mechanics Arms, in Alfred Street North, is on the market with a guide price of £190,000 with newly-formed property auction house Auction Estates.

    It has been promoted with the option of continuing to let the pub to tenants or redevelop it into new homes.

    Nottingham's latest auction house has settled into a new office – as the man leading it says he believes it can rival other city firms.

    Auction Estates, which forms part of property investment firm ALB Group, has been set up by Paul Giles and will concentrate on residential and commercial property auctions.

    It launches this week after the new company moved into its own base, in Regent Street, within the professional quarter.

    Mr Giles, who previously led Savills' commercial auction team, said: "It's vital for us to have an office here so we can be at the heart of the best street in the professional quarter.
