Auction Estates is pleased to confirm the results of its latest Live National Auction, held on 20 August 2026 at Nottingham Racecourse, with £5,140,000 of property sold across a diverse range of residential, commercial, investment and land opportunities.
The auction once again demonstrated strong demand from buyers, with a significant proportion of properties selling prior to auction. In total, 22% of the properties were sold before auction day, highlighting the continued strength of pre-auction interest, with 84% sold in total. This demonstrates the ability of the auction process to provide sellers with a secure and timely route to sale.
Hollygate Farm, Stragglethorpe Road, Stragglethorpe, Radcliffe-on-Trent, was another prominent property to attract strong interest ahead of the auction. The substantial eight-bedroom farmhouse, extending to approximately 5,840 sq ft with extensive outbuildings of around 19,000 sq ft and set within approximately 7.4 acres, was sold prior to auction significantly higher than its guide price of £650,000+.
One of the notable properties to attract strong interest was Newspaper House, Brook Street, Leek, Staffordshire, a substantial commercial investment comprising eight commercial units extending to approximately 22,744 sq ft. Guided at £450,000+, the property was sold in the room, demonstrating continued demand for income-producing commercial opportunities with potential for further value enhancement.
Strong competition was also seen for Land & Building, Quarry Farm Industrial Estate (off Newark’s new relief road), Bowbridge Lane, Newark, Nottinghamshire. The approximately two-acre industrial site, including a former workshop extending to around 1,711 sq ft, was guided at £150,000+ and sold for £230,000, demonstrating continued demand for well-located land and commercial opportunities.
The catalogue once again showcased the breadth of property that can be successfully brought to auction, ranging from residential and investment opportunities through to commercial premises, development land and smaller specialist assets.
The latest results take Auction Estates' total property sales for 2026 to £20,500,300 across its first four Live National Auctions of the year.
The strength of pre-auction activity also demonstrates the flexibility of the auction method for sellers. With buyers able to review legal packs and property information before bidding, the process provides a transparent and informed route to purchase while giving vendors the opportunity to secure committed buyers ahead of auction day where appropriate.
Auction Estates already has a strong catalogue taking shape for its next Live National Auction on 8 October 2026, with properties coming forward from locations including Newcastle, Manchester and Ipswich. Entries are now invited for the October auction, providing further opportunities for sellers looking for a fast, transparent and competitive method of sale.
